It is a plant known as "tsukushi" in Japanese and is considered a symbol of good luck, longevity, and prosperity growing. It is believed that polishing gold with rough horsetail can make it shinier due to the silica present in its stems.

The traditional blue and white color combination is a common feature in Japanese tableware, making it easy to find complementary pieces to pair with this plate.
